The blog is back!

We're back...

It's been around 2-3 years since I last wrote a personal blog post, so bare with me on this one. I purchased t-h.io when there was a big hype over the .io domains but the old blog link of tomhealy.tech will redirect here.

It's been a journey from Wordpress to Jekyll (hosted on GitHub pages) back to Wordpress to deciding to go at it alone and build something using Next.js, Tailwind CSS and rendering Markdown.

Let me (re)introduce myself

So for those that don't know me, my name is Tom - I'm from the middle of the country (Northamptonshire) and currently work as a Modern Work Architect for a company called CPS based out of Reading. I sit within the Security, Compliance & Identity team and have a passion for all things Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure, I've been working with these two technologies for around 7 years, with Architect level expeirence for the last 4-5 years.

A recent project at work peaked my interest, where I built a platform to migrate calendars from Google Workspace' Gmail to Exchange Online in Microsoft 365. It was a fun project consisting of Next.js for both the front & backend, Azure Functions and Storage Queues for batches - unfortunately the project was killed before it could see the light of day due to the development effort and time it'd take to make it live but the POC was a success!

I've recently become a father to a beautiful baby girl, so my time has been limited for passion projects and working outside of the usual 9-5.

I wanted to bring the blog back online as it allows me to play with some technologies that I enjoy using. So I guess, let's see where this goes?

What will I be writing about?

I intend to share my experiences with technology both in and out of work. I like sharing information and findings with people and I believe people should do the same - without mentors or
